Ferret-Land is run by my partner Mick and myself Emma. Over the years we have cared for many fury ferrets and rehomed them to. We believe that with mutual respect with the ferret you can have an amazing companion.

Would you say that having a dog is a pet or companion. Well thats how we feel about ferrets. Every ferret is unique and loved by us for all their traits good or bad. We believe in working our ferrets as it keeps them close to their natural lifestyle as possible. However we understand that this is not for everyone and with love and care they make wonderful companions working or not.

 

It is VERY important to supply your ferret with plenty of fresh mixed meat as it has everything that ferrets need. You can buy this from supermarkets if need be. Tesco sell cheaply Lambs hearts, liver and kidneys. Ferrets love bloody meat. As a base they are supplied daily with Dr Johns ferret biscuits as we believe this to be the best for them. We have found that if the ferret is ill and not eating they tend to like selective ferret biscuits however try not to change biscuits to often as it can upset them.

 

 

We have our own Breeding programmes form Working ferrets and keep up to date records of all ferrets in our care to provide the best care possible and avoid inbreeding. Our aim is to breed fit and healthy ferrets and keep the gene pool growing for future generations.

We get asked to care for ferrets that are no longer wanted or found. We do not refuse any ferret that we can accommodate. However we do get a large amount of enquiries and can not always take them. We will then decide if it is in thats ferret best interest to be rehomed or stay with us to live out the rest of its life. We also Board Ferrets if we can accomidate them while owners are on holiday.
